Fixing Dog Obedience Problems
According to Wikipedia dog training is "the process of teaching a dog to perform certain behaviors under various circumstances and in certain roles on command." Everybody wants to train their dog to some degree or another, whether their dog is just a house pet or a working companion on the job.
There are 5 main benefits of training your dog.
Number one is that it helps to build a relationship between you and your dog. It builds a relationship of trust between you and your dog, and a relationship of trust helps build confidence between you and your dog, which makes the time you spend with your dog more enjoyable.
Number two is that training corrects behavioral problems. Dogs develop behavioral problems, like chewing, to release frustration, break boredom, or sometimes just for entertainment. Training gives you the appropriate "standing" to correct these bad behaviors.
The third benefit is that training stimulates intellect. Dogs are curious by nature and love to explore the world around them. Training helps to stimulate dogs and motivates them to learn, which in turn stimulates their intellect.
Number four is that training encourages inclusion. Dogs are pack animals and always want to feel included in the "pack". To your dog(s) you and your family are the pack, so if everyone in your family is involved in training you dog, he/she will feel more like a part of the "pack". This in turn will make your dog feel more secure and happier.
And lastly, training saves time. If you take the time now to train your dog it will save you time in the long run. For example, taking the time now to teach your dog not to do things like chewing will save you time later when you no longer have to clean up the mess he/she would leave behind.
Dog training can be a complex endeavour for some people, but with help anybody can do it, and do it well.
