The male dog is overwhelmed by her smell. Why would you be so cruel to try and "sit" him with no reaction? Remove him from her presence instead. A female in heat iniates an instinctual reaction in males that is incredibly hard to control. I believe it would be impossible to "train out" or override the brain chemistry of a male when he senses a female in heat. I don’t think so.
